You may have read my last post 20 Somethings.. where I discussed the pressure placed on us as human beings in society particularly in your 20s as though life is some kind of race, (If you haven’t, what are you waiting for?) Well, here I am again to elaborate on that pressure a little more and emphasize on why it’s okay to not have your life all figured out.
Anyone else feel like LinkedIn pressures them a lot? You log in and you see updates that someones got a new job or somebody has been promoted and you congratulate them on the app/website. Because it’s all career focused I feel it sends a lot of us into this pressure career wise that we aren’t where we should be and that we should be doing better things. I see people from my University in big jobs and whilst I’m not jealous I do wonder if I’m going at a slower pace than I should be. The reality is I am going at a perfect pace for myself and so are you.
You don’t have to be in your 20s to feel the pressures of society. Something as simple as not having your own home and all those around you have mortgages, or even being single in your late 20s and early 30s.. Marriage, not having kids until your late 30s though healthcare assistants and doctors will try to advise you to do this beforehand. These things don’t necessarily mean that others have their lives figured out and you do not.

Sometimes winging it is your best option. There was a time that I had no plan whatsoever. I would say in terms of employment; there’s been two times where I’ve left a job with no direction whatsoever and no plan in place for where I am to go next. The first time I really regret it but I was at university and I wasn’t left with nothing. The second time it was one of the best decisions I made, although it was through the middle of a pandemic I felt it was something I seriously needed to do and it came to my advantage.
Your plans don’t always go to plan and that’s okay. It’s never going to be easy to stick to plans, something as simple as a New Years resolution can be scrapped within a week, it’s the same for plans and sometimes life just happens and you have to re-evaluate your next steps. Life is completely uncertain and that’s never going to change.
Yes, Manifestation is true! I genuinely believe you can manifest what you want for you future but you’ve also got to take the steps to get to that place! Don’t manifest things simply for the likes to please others, manifest for what your heart truly desires.
Finally, this is your life.
however you chose to live your life is entirely up to you. Each day we’re creating a new version of ourselves and growing into the person that we’re destined to be.
It’s alright to wing it and have no idea what’s to happen next or to not have a plan. You’re on your own journey, never compare yourself to others. It’s perfectly okay to be at your own pace. Don’t allow society to take away the rhythm of your life.

Do you feel you’re on track in life?
Do you compare yourself to others?
